BASEBALL / SOFTBALL /
T-BALL REGISTRATION
March 1st to April 6th
March 1st, means it’s time to start thinking about Baseball / Softball and T-Ball. The 2025 will kicks off he today and the first thing you need to do is sign up. Registration deadline will be April 6th.
This year in hopes that the process will be easy for everyone we have set it up in a 3 step process.
Step 1; go to SPORTS ENGINE REGISTRATION
Complete the form, please check T-Shirt Size, Pants, the correct league for placement and if you are interested in coaching.
Step 2: You will get an email from Lonney asking you to accept your membership into the Cal Ripken Youth Baseball / Softball program.
You must do this so you can be put on a team.
Step 3 Payment can be done 2 ways, in person at one of the clinics, or online by going to CAMPMINDER
It will look like you are registering for camp don't worry
Look for Winthrop ARea YMCA Programs.
When you see Tier Pricing don't worry, that is a camp item only.
Fees are $80.00 for Baseball / Softball
$40.00 for T-Ball.
(There is a $5.00 discount for 2 or more children.)
We are looking for a person to be our concession manager, that person will have all registration fees waived for their help. If you are interested call Lonney

RECREATION PROGRAM

2025 SUMMER RECREATION CALENDAR

SUMMER KIDS CLUB
Summer Kids Club will operate Monday to Friday For 8 weeks June 16th to August 8th (No programs on July 4th)
The program is based in the Winthrop Grade School gym all drop off and pick up this summer will be on the entrance on the parking lot side of the gym. Go up the stairs and staff will meet you to let you in. Please follow procedures on Summer Kids Club sign-in outside the gym entrance and communicate with staff when you arrive.
Participants will be able to attend Arts and Crafts and Tennis / Pickleball at the Rec Center at 29 Town Hall Lane. Participants will be able to participate in SESSION 1 of Swim Lessons you MUST Sign up to reserve a spot.
Participants will also be spending time at the Winthrop Beach on Bowdoin St. in the afternoons.
Dropoff will be 7:30-8:45am Arrival time is from 7:30-8:30am, if participants are eating breakfast at Summer Kids Club, they must arrive at the gym by 8:10am. Breakfast will be from 8:10 to 8:30. Please let staff know if you are running late at drop-off so they can expect your arrival.
Pick up will be 4:00-5:30 Pick up time is from 4:00-5:30pm, If your plan is to pick up your child prior to 4:00pm please let the staff know so they can ensure that your child has all of their belongings with them and that your meet your child at the location that kids club is schedule to be at.

7:30-8:30am Drop Off / Breakfast
8:30-9:00am Free Play, prepare for outdoor morning activities
9:00-11:00am Outdoor Morning Rec Activities (weather permitting)
11:00-11:30am Quiet Time Reading Time
11:30-12:00pm Lunch
12:00-12:45pm Prepare for Afternoon Activity (weather dependent)
12:45-1:00pm Walk to Beach
1:00-3:00pm Afternoon Activity
3:00-3:45pm Return to Gym prepare for snack
3:45-4:00pm Snack
4:00-4:45pm Dismissal afternoon activities (weather dependent)
4:45-5:30pm Dismissal / Free Time
REMINDERS ON WHAT TO BRING
- Participants will need to wear sneakers to Summer Kids Club every day. They may bring a pair of waterproof sandals for the beach to charge into. We walk to the Rec Building and to the Beach.
- Participants need to bring a water bottle with them everyday
- Please make sure children are dressed in comfortable, active clothing
- Please pack your child with a swimsuit, so they have a chance to cool off in the water at the beach.
- If you’re able please pack your child with a reusable bag to store their wet suits and towels each afternoon.
- Children are required to pack their own towels and swimsuits. They may pack books, workbooks, or other activities to do during quiet time. Please send your child with some sore of backpack or drawstring bag to store their belongings in. Please do no pack toys, as we have plenty of them.
- Technology is only allowed at Kids Club if the weather is expected to be rainy. Your child will not be allowed to use technology unless the weather prevents us from being outside.
- Pokémon cards will not be allowed at Summer Kids Club. No trading cards of any sort will be permitted.

Unlike school year Kids Club, if you want to use Credit or Debit Card you must go to the link below for payments we cannot make payments for you.
REGISTER FOR SUMMER KIDS CLUB 2025
PICKLEBALL
- Courts are available one first come basis.
- Courts are reserved for HS Tennis in April-May from 2:30 to 6:00pm for practice and matches.
- We hope people can share the space so basketball And pickleball can be played.
TO GET THE NETS:
- Call the Rec Dept 207-377-9686 and set up getting access to the nets
PEOPLE TO PLAY WITH:
We would like to create a list of people who are looking to play pickleball. Then you can set up a time to come and play.
